Colton's First Birthday Party!!

Well, the party was a complete success! All the exhausting preparation surely paid off. Colton had just awakened from an extra long nap, the homemade lasagnas were in the oven, the salad was freshly tossed, the garlic bread was browning nicely, the fruit was cut and on a decorative platter and the drinks were cooling when the first guests arrived.

We ended up having about 15 people (10 adults and 5 kiddos) plus his Dada, Colton and me. Colton was in a great mood and really had fun with all his extended family and friends that were in attendance.

He got some great clothes and toys, like a ride-on John Deere truck, a beanbag chair and a Learning Touch Leap Pad toy with 2 extra books, and the cutest board shorts and T-shirt from Old Navy.

Unfortunately, he didn't like the cake at all and especially when his "Uncle" Andy pushed his hands in it, thinking that it was mandatory that he be covered in blue frosting... :(

Thanks so much for all your cards and well-wishes. I only hope that one day we can ALL get together to celebrate, especially my family and friends in Dallas! Posted by Picasa
